A consortium comprising Leighton Contracting Qatar WLL, Siemens WLL Doha, and Siemens AG has been awarded a US$412 million contract to develop a People-Mover System(PMS) for Qatar Foundation’s Education City campus at the west of Doha.

Siemens Tram Consortium has awarded building design services to WSP Middle East and Grimshaw Architects. As a third-party consultant, ECG will serve as Architect of Record and Engineer of Record for the following components of the project: 18 tram stops; Siemens underground technical rooms; 8 substations; a 500 meter-long tunnel; 17 buildings serving the PMS; and electrical service buildings.

ECG’s scope covers design review and submission to authorities for building permits.
