On January 23, 2019, ECG effectively participated in the Arab Forum for Effective Partnerships, Investment and Corporate Citizenship held in Abu Dhabi, under the theme of Towards Sustainable Growth. ECG Vice President Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek effectively participated as a speaker and moderated a panel that discussed Effective Partnerships and Cooperation for Better Life and Sustainable Development in the Arab Communities. The panel had other prominent speakers, like Dr. Hazem Fawzy, Country Director – CARE International/Egypt and Eng. Aml Mubadda Head of the Fundraising Department at Misr El-Khair Association and President of the National Council for Disabled.
During the panel, ECG Vice President Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek emphasized the importance of effective partnership between the private sector, government, and the civil society in building better lives for citizens and achieving sustainable development in the Arab communities. She also affirmed that the sustainable development initiatives that actually meet the goals and needs of the private sector are those that mostly grasp the interest of the corporate shareholders. Dr. Abdelkhalek highlighted the University to Work Program as one of ECG’s sustainable education for employment initiatives that has a tangible socioeconomic return on investment in human capital, as it qualifies Egyptian engineering students for the labor market inside and outside Egypt, in a manner that contributes to achieve Egypt’s vision of 2030.
It’s worth mentioning that the Arab Forum for Effective Partnerships, Investment and Corporate Citizenship in Abu-Dhabi was attended by H.E. Minister of Immigration Dr. Nabila Makram, H.E. Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects Eng. Khaled Abbas, H.E. Ambassador of Egypt to UAE Mr. Sherif El-Bedaiwy, and President of the General Authority for Investment & Free Zones Mr. Adel Mohsen, Chairperson of the Emirates Business Women Council Eng. Farida Abdulla Kamber El-Awadhi, besides representatives of different Arab and International Organizations, Arab Businessmen and Businesswomen, and governments officials as well.
